MEDROXYPROGESTERONE ACETATE 150MG/ML LYNDAVEL

Contraception and Menorrhagia: A single vial (medroxyprogesterone acetate 150 mg in 1 mL suspension) IM injection within the first 5 days of cycle or within first 5 days after giving birth (delay until 6 weeks after giving birth if breastfeeding), or any day as long as the patient is not pregnant and a back-up method of contraception (eg, condoms) is to be used for the next 7 days as a precaution to avoid pregnancy.
Secondary Amenorrhea: 5-10 mg by IM injection daily for about 5-10 days until 2 days before the anticipated onset of menstruation.
Mild to Moderate Endometriosis: Usual Dose: 50 mg weekly or 100 mg every 2 weeks by IM injection for at least 6 months.
Administration: Before injecting Lyndavel at the injection site, wash hands with soap and water.
Gently shake the vial. If the vial is cold, warm to skin temperature before injecting.
Pierce top of vial with a sterile needle and fill a syringe with the proper dose.
Insert sterile needle deep into the hip (ventrogluteal muscle), the upper arm (deltoid muscle) or the buttocks (gluteal muscle, upper outer portion), whichever is preferred. Inject the contents of the syringe. Do not massage the injection site as this could cause Lyndavel to be absorbed too rapidly.
Used disposable syringes and needle must be properly disposed by placing in a puncture-proof container.
The next injection can be administered 2 weeks before or after the scheduled day.
