2 lbs. Spool of .023 Mild Steel Wire is used with 75% argon/25% CO2, or 100% CO2 shielding gas. This is a 4" diameter spool with a center mounting hole that is standard 5/8" diameter. This wire is also great in a spool gun. Note that this is precision wound wire, verses random wound. Precision layer wound is like a spool of thread, each revolution is next to the other, which feeds better and provides a more consistent wire feed rate.
All of our Steel Wire meets AWS Specification E70S-6. This is the only wire recommended by all auto manufacturers for repairing today's HSLA steels. A high quality steel wire with a minimum tensile strength of 70,000 psi. Higher silica and manganese content means this wire will flow out better and weld through rust and paint easier. Use .023 diameter for sheet metal to 3/16", .030 for 16 ga to 3/8" and .035 diameter for 14 ga to ½"
