This Water Flow Meter – Plastic 1/2? or Water Flow Sensor measures the rate of flow by counting how many times the wheel has spun, via a hall effect sensor, each pulse is approximately 2.25 mL, note that this isn’t a precision sensor, and the pulse rate will vary slightly depending on the flow rate, fluid pressure and sensor orientation. The water flow meter sensor comes with three wires: red (5-24VDC power), black (ground) and yellow (Hall effect pulse output). To use this sensor you will need a controller such as an Arduino to count the pulses, and an LCD to display the values.
