GALVANIC FACIAL TREATMENT

A galvanic facial involves the use of mild electric currents consisting of positive and negative ions to refresh, stimulate and rejuvenate the skin. The charged ingredients are carried into the deeper layers of the skin and concentrated there.

The use of this second gel is called iontophoresis, or the nutrition step, for the skin. The esthetician uses a galvanic messenger with a chrome base that conducts the galvanic current directly onto the skin. The current is a mixture of positive and negative ions that help rebalance and redistribute energy throughout the skin.

Aftercare and home care for galvanic treatment
• Avoid touching the face where possible.
• Avoid application of foundation and powder to the face for 24 hours after treatment – lipstick and eye make-up may be used. After treatment the skin is especially sensitive to the pigments contained in make-up.
