The DSL-520B ADSL2+ Modem Router from D-Link is super-handy piece of hardware that serves as both your ADSL modem and wired router. With a built-in RJ-11 ADSL port, this device connects to your ADSL, ADSL2, or ADSL2+ line. If you have an ADSL2+ line, you can transfer data a rate of up to 24Mbps downstream and up to 2Mbps upstream. Beyond use as your modem, this device also features an RJ-45 Fast Ethernet LAN port for routing your Internet connection to your computer. As a wired router, the device also has more advanced functions such as firewall protection for network security and Quality of Service bandwidth prioritization for keeping your latency-sensitive applications, like VoIP or online gamines operating smoothly. Firewall Protection
The router provides firewall security using Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI) and Denial of Service (DoS) attack protection. SPI inspects the contents of all incoming packet headers before deciding what packets are allowed to pass through. Router access control is provided with packet filtering based on port and source/destination MAC/IP addresses

Quality of Service
For Quality of Service (QoS), the router supports multiple priority queues to enable a group of home or office users to experience the benefit of smooth network connection of inbound and outbound data without concern of traffic congestion. This QoS support allows users to enjoy high ADSL transmission for applications such as VoIP, streaming multimedia and on-line games over the Internet

Switch Expandable
As a router, you can connect a 4-Port Ethernet switch to the built-in LAN port so as to expand the number of Ethernet-enabled devices that can be added to your network
