IV Coat 2 is composed of phenolic alkyd varnish, dryer, and solvent which is use to insulate electric motor and transformer windings to avoid electrical deficiency. Ideally used as end coil finishing enamel or frame enamel on the fast re-insulating job.
It has excellent flexibility, good dielectric strength, excellent chemical and moisture resistance, and excellent adhesion. To ensure good adhesion, the surface must be free of grease and other foreign materials. Brush, dip or spray insulating varnish. Air dry to touch on for 30 to 45 minutes and dry it for 4 to 5 hours. If necessary IV Coat 2 can be forced dried at a temperature up to 200°F.
