Na-K Color Developer
Potassium Standard, 4.5 mmol/l

Principle: Bound Potassium ions is released from albumin by a solvent. The Serum Potassium (bound, complexed or ionized) is then complexed by a dye forming a blue complex.

CSF: 2.2 – 3.4 mmol/l

NOTES ON THE PROCEDURE:

1. All glasswares should rinse with de-ionized water.
2. Serum sample only.
3. Separate test tubes for Potassium only.
4. Use any Protein Free Filtrate Reagent (HDL Precipitating, preffered) for icteric, bile & chylous serum get supernatant then proceed to the procedure
