Sooner or later Arduino enthusiasts and beginners alike will come across the MAX7219 IC. And for good reason, it’s a simple and somewhat inexpensive method of controlling 64 LEDs in either matrix or numeric display form. Furthermore they can be chained together to control two or more units for even more LEDs. Overall – they’re a lot of fun and can also be quite useful.

Module parameters:

1. One module is required to drive an 8 * 8 common cathode lattice
2. Module Operating voltage: 5V.
3. Module size: 5 cm long X 3.2 cm wide X 1.5 cm high
4. With four 3mm screw holes
5. Module has input and output ports for multiple module support in cascade.
Wiring instructions:
1.The module has an input side and an output for cascaded functions. The input is denoted by the DI pin and DO for output.
2.To control the MAX7219 module it SPI communications (CLK,MOSI,CS) connected to a microcontroller. CLK>CLK, MOSI>DI, CS>CS.
